Summary
Bering Global Solutions a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Technical Privacy Engineer to serve as a Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in IRS privacy policies, procedures, and processes. The position works independently or as part of a team at the direction of the government to support IRS privacy and compliance needs. The incumbent performs primary duties directly related to the development and implementation of Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data requirements, requiring independent decision-making for tasks involving privacy compliance, documentation, and collaboration with Agile teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Privacy and Compliance Management:
Act as the IRS Privacy SME to support the development and implementation of privacy requirements for SBU and PII data, ensuring compliance with IRS policies and standards.
• Requirements Development and Implementation:
Lead the development, refinement, and management of security and privacy requirements, working with Agile teams to integrate these requirements into IRS projects.
• Technical Expertise and Standards Compliance:
Apply in-depth knowledge of IRS Security policies and frameworks, including IRS IRM, NIST, and ISO 27001-2, to ensure privacy compliance in all project phases.
• Documentation and Communication:
Create and maintain detailed documentation for privacy policies and procedures, conduct presentations, and effectively communicate technical privacy requirements to stakeholders.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work with project managers, developers, and other engineers to ensure privacy standards and best practices are integrated across Agile development cycles.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)
• Experience and Skillset:
• 10+ years of experience with IRS Privacy policies, procedures, and processes, with deep knowledge of IRS Security policies.
• 2-5 years of experience in developing and managing security and privacy requirements using Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, including familiarity with IRS IRM, NIST, ISO 27001-2, and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities.
• Fluent in English with strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Risk Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• CIPP or other industry-recognized Security Privacy certification (Preferred).
