SUMMARY

Paragon Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Site Supervisor/ Scheduler in the Mount Laurel, NJ. 

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

Site Supervisor/Schedulers provide a 24/7 single point of contact for the receipt and execution of transport directives.

  • Coordinating transportation of detainees as directed by ICE, in a timely manner in order to ensure all detainees are delivered to proper destinations. Communicating with other AORs (MD, NJ)
  • Complying with all USDOT/FMCSA rules and regulations regarding the transport of passengers; monitoring Transportation Officers Hours of Service and reporting to the Transportation Coordinator to ensure duty day does not exceed 15 hours with no more than 10 hours driving time; ensure no more than 70 hours in eight-day period.
  • Ensuring Transportation Officers perform transport duties per PBNDS.
  • Providing a daily Operations Brief (muster) and Safety/PBNDS Training brief
  • Ensuring Transportation Officers are aware of appropriate routes to transport destinations.
  • Ensuring that any required detainee documentation is provided to the Transportation Officers prior to departure.
  • Ensuring that all required equipment for transport is loaded in vehicles or kept in vehicles prior to transport; such items include first aid kit, accident investigation kit, proof of insurance, safety flares, restraint equipment, etc.
  • Providing weekly site-specific vehicle updates and coordinating vehicle maintenance withthe Fleet Services Manager.
  • Responding to any/all incidents occurring on Supervising preparation of required incident, injury or accident reports, ensuring the TC/DPM/PM is notified of all serious incidents involving injury, attempted escape, escape, use of force, etc
  • Ensuring that the appropriate number of gender appropriate officers are onboard each transport and present for each shift.
  • Ensuring that Transportation Officers detailed to hospital/escort duties are relieved upon shift change.
  • Verifying that the Transportation Officers are carrying their driver’s license, medical certificate and weapons permits prior to departure.
  • Daily monitoring of SureBus.
  • Conducting monthly uniform and weapons inspections of assigned staff.
  • Preparing annual performance evaluations for assigned staff.
  • Counseling officers on performance deficiencies.
  • Issuing disciplinary recommendations to the Transportation Coordinator and/or Deputy Project Manager for review and approval prior to issuing to staff.
  • Ensuring all detainee transports/stationary guard assignments are documented and pre/post trip vehicle inspections, trip logs and G-391 forms are completed, and all documentation is provided to the Invoicing Administrator at the end of each shift.
  • Reviewing the Record of Presence to ensure all shift personnel have signed in/out properly, including breaks, and forwarding to the Invoicing Administrator, Deputy Project Manager and Project Manager at the end of each day.
  • Transport Officers are required to maintain a valid Armed Guard/Firearms permit as part of their qualifications to perform transport duties. Maintenance includes passing the periodic firearms recertification. Officers who fail to maintain their armed guard/firearms permit may not be assigned to Transportation duties.
  • The Contractor shall certify proficiency every quarter. Training curriculum shall include Use of Force training, Tactics, Weapon Safety, and Range Qualifications.
  • All Armed Officers are required to recertify with their issued duty handgun at periodicities set forth in the Federal contract or state requirements. Officers must achieve a minimum score of 200 or 80% out of 250 points and must demonstrate safe handling and manipulation of their weapon (or as mandated by state requirements).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Law Enforcement Officer and/or Military Police Officer or six (6) months experience as a security officer engaged in functions related to detailing civil or administrative detainees or, two (2) years active-duty military service with an honorable discharge.
  • Must maintain an active cellphone to receive assignments and maintain communication with co-workers and supervisory staff.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
  • Customer service experience and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • IT experence a plus

Preferred

  • Possession of a valid Wear Carry Permit for the site specific state.
  • Possession of a valid Security Guard Certification for the site-specific state.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License or valid Commercial Driver’s License for the state you reside in
  • Possession of a USDOT Medical Card (for CDL license holders only)
  • Current federal background investigation and access or ability to obtain (e-Qip).
  • Active Federal government security clearance.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required betweeen the two AOR in New Jersey. 

 

Swing shift schedule: 2PM- 10PM

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Government Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Wear Carry Permit for the work site specific state
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security Guard Certification work site specific state
  • Ability to pass pre-hire and random drug tests and physicals.
  • Valid Driver’s License for the State you reside in
