SUMMARY

Stampede Ventures Inc, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Mechanic Helper for its equipment fleet in Nome Alaska. The Mechanic Helper will perform various repairs on trucks trailers and equipment in the Nome Fleet in accordance with all manufacturers’ recommendations, and company policy.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Work with the Shop Foreman to repair maintain all equipment in AGC, BSDC, SQI and SVI’s fleet and keep it in safe, working order.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records of all work done to equipment.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Mechanical experience working on equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks and lite duty vehicles.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Ability to work independently without supervision.

Preferred  

  • Valid Alaska Drivers License

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed outdoors with almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, fumes, smoke and/or loud noises.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibility

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
