Arcticom, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Test Lead for the Foundational Logistics IT Enterprise System contract at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). The Test Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the quality assurance testing process.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide hands-on leadership to QA engineers and play an integral role in complete end to end verification of the Logistics IT software systems and components.
  • Plan, execute and manage complex integration-level system tests with multiple dependencies.
  • Test the functionality of the solution to ensure that the application is working correctly.
  • Encourage skill and career growth development within the QA team in parallelwith ongoing mentorship and support.
  • Provide continuous risk assessment and timely escalation of software quality concerns, be an advocate for process improvements, as well as an individual contributor. 
  • Work closely with product owners and developers to meet QA commitments and align delivery priorities with business objectives.
  • Participate in building, and maintaining data-driven test automation tools and frameworks using clean coding practices and functional programming methodologies.
  • Perform debugging and root cause analysis of product issues or defects.
  • Evangelize new testing methodologies, best practices and tools with goals to continuously improve test coverage through both manual and automated processes.
  • Establish tight collaboration and feedback loops between various teams to improve the release process and maximize resource utilization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Conduct automated and manual regression testing against all test cases to ensure that new code, functionality, or new releases have not introduced errors to existing functionality.
  • Test the system capabilities to ensure functionality, interoperability, and data validation across distributed components in the system.
  • Construct regularly scheduled automated testing on source code that is checked into a code repository to ensure build integrity and compliance with coding patterns/practices.
  • Conduct testing (either automated or manual) to take code from a code repository and exercise it to ensure that it can be compiled and released to a working environment.
  • Work closely with various members of the requirements, development, test and deployment teams to develop, enhance, and maintain the necessary quality for solutions and CI/CD testing capability.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Five years of QA test management or test lead experience. 
  • Two years of supervising automated and manual software test operations. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; or 5-10 years equivalent experience.
  • Must possess or be able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries background investigation; requires US citizenship.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

 

  • Experience leading a test or quality team through multiple end to end cycles.
  • Experience in test driven development.
  • Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, system dependencies, and product integration phases.
  • Extensive working knowledge of relational databases, strong SQL skills.
  • Recent hands-on experience with front-end test automation tools and libraries such as Selenium, TestNG, Junit, ScalaTest, JMeter, and others
  • Familiarity with scripting and programming languages, such as Java, Groovy, Python, Scala, Ruby, Perl, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line shell scripting.
  • Ability to write and execute manual and automated test scripts to support a Selenium automation script library.
  • Strong understanding of acceptance testing, test case development, execution of test procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with others.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting & telework environment with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
