SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Dietitian Level II for the Air Force, Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Headquarter Air Combat Command (HQ ACC) , This position will support a human performance team in a military setting. This work will take place in a human performance (HP) facility that incorporates job-specific conditioning, cutting-edge HP technology, and easy-access to prehab & rehab physical therapy.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dietitian Level II is responsible for providing nutritional guidance, assisting in the
production of nutritional policy and guidelines, assessing nutritional needs, teaching meal
preparation, and for developing nutrition improvement plans for pilots, instructor pilots, and
other warfighters. This position will work in coordination with the Human Performance Team to
ensure that there is a seamless integration of all warfighter care throughout the organization. The
Dietitian will report directly to the Human Performance Team Project Manager. The selected
applicant will have daily contact and interaction with AF trainees and senior leaders, as well as
other staff members, contractors and vendors. As such, the selected party must adhere to the
highest standards of conduct throughout the course of their daily activities and apply appropriate
relationships with trainees, customers, and teammates.

• Executes nutrition policy and program requirements in accordance with instruction and guidance
established by company guidelines.
• Uses a wide range of principles, practices and procedures of the science of dietetics and
behavior change theories required to plan, implement and evaluate Health Promotion (HP) nutrition
programs.
• In partnership with HP staff, assesses nutrition behaviors, environment and needs or the
beneficiary population using available and applicable tools; determine/prioritize appropriate
installation nutrition priorities in accordance with company healthy weight and nutrition goals.
• Regularly researches, develops/acquires, and maintains materials to implement comprehensive
evidence-based nutrition programs and services to meet population health priorities and beneficiary
needs.
• Implements evidence-based approaches in a variety of food service venues to create a healthy
nutrition environment.
• Employs adult learning behavior change theories and teaching techniques to conduct a variety of
individual and group nutrition interventions.
• Maintains data quality management (e.g. coding, MEPRS) and reporting requirements in program
execution in accordance with the company’s instruction and professional standards of the
Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
• Serves as the nutrition expert, consultant, and advocate to support a comprehensive Fitness
Program for the installation.
• Provides expertise to implement and evaluate nutrition programs for all populations.
• Provides expertise to develop, deliver and evaluate nutrition-related programs for professional
staff and colleagues on HP related topics.
• Communicates and coordinates nutrition programs among local leadership and target
customers/beneficiaries.
• Employs appropriate social marketing tools to meet program goals and objectives.
• Participates in teleconferences, updates, working groups, review panels, symposiums, and related
nutrition education programs and management of operations.
• Delivers briefings, educational sessions, seminars, and worksite wellness programs as
needed.
• Maintains positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Will be required to travel, at Government expense, to attend directed training and/or
conferences

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

• 5+ years of full-time experience as a Dietitian
• Bachelor’s degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
• National Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential

• Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training

Job is performed in an gym or classroom setting. Occasional travel may be required.

ADDTIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
