Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer 1 for the Air Force, Human Performance Optimization (HPO) Headquarter Air Combat Command (HQ ACC) , The Certified Athletic Trainer will evaluate, advise, and care forAir Force Pilots to assist recovery from injury, avoid injury, or maintain peak physical fitness.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

 

• Conduct an initial assessment of a pilot’s injury or illness in order to provide emergency or
continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for
definitive diagnosis and treatment.
• Care for pilots’ injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques, and medication’.
• Evaluate pilot’s readiness to return to training, and provide participation clearances when
necessary and warranted.
• Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body
parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation
programs for pilot injuries.
• Advise athletes on the proper use of equipment.
• Plan and implement comprehensive pilot injury and illness prevention programs.
• Supervise and conduct physical training programs with consideration to individual injuries.
• Develop training programs and routines designed to improve pilot performance.
• Provide care to pilot for medical issues daily and coordinate with appropriate military
personnel along with the Paramedic, Coaches, Program Manager, and other contractor
personnel as determined necessary for the situation
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of training facility
• Organize and establish general rules of conduct for the training room facility
• Recommend any changes to the leadership in regard to athletic training supplies and
equipment used
• Keep accurate records of all injuries, methods of treatment, rehabilitation, and medical
releases. In the course of normal operations, provide relevant information to medical staff
to support the pilots’ medical needs.
• Keep leadership informed of all pilots treated by the AT staff (as required)
• Provide a weekly summary report to leadership on all treatments and activities conducted,
including all coordination, planning and activities with non-HPSG personnel

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

• 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Athletic Trainer with tactical, professional, or collegiate athletes.
• Graduated from an Athletic Training Education Program, Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of
Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
• Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Athletic Training, Health Profession or Physical Education
related Discipline
• Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)
• Current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including Automated External
Defibrillator (AED) Training.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
