SUMMARY

Bering Global Solutions (BGS) a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Network Engineer/Net Ops in Washington D.C.   The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day operational services supporting an online environment as well as on-prem switches, routers, firewalls, VPN devices, and other LAN/WAN infrastructure components that directly support the government customer. The successful candidate must be able to operate in an enterprise setting, with collaborative and communications skills to support staff managing the enterprise IT environment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of the mission-critical voice, video and data network
  • Ensure integration and interoperability of network technologies.
  • Assist in the implementation and troubleshooting of data center and infrastructure migration.
  • Ensure quick response to information assurance notifications.
  • Operations and maintenance of remote access and LAN/WAN software and hardware.
  • Use network monitoring tools to troubleshoot, monitor, and report network capabilities and connectivity as required.
  • Review system logs to determine usage levels, bandwidth, performance, and security of systems.
  • Assist with the installation of new hardware and software making sure that all components interface correctly with each other and the network.
  • Contacting manufacturer/vendor for warranty repair or replacement.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

  • S. Diploma and demonstrated work experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Demonstrated experience with Firewalls / Routers / Switch / SASE
  • Hands on experience in an enterprise network
  • Experience managing Cisco routers and switches, nexus experience a plus
  • Enterprise wireless solutions

Preferred

  • Iboss or general hands on sase experience with another tool desirable
  • Network +

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
